Dr. Walter supports Germany Scholarship
27.01.2014
In the academic year 2013/14, Dr. Walter supports one of 325 Germany scholarships of the Technical University Dresden with Euro 1,800. On 24 January, the scholarships were awarded at the TU in Dresden.
Tobias Stoppok studies economics in Dresden and can now fully focus on getting his master’s degree. For his last academic year, he will receive a monthly scholarship of Euro 300. Prior to his studies with a major in Accounting and Controlling, the 25-year-old finished his training as a bank clerk.
"Thanks to the support from Dr. Walter, I can now afford to live in downtown Dresden and no longer have to commute for two and a half hours every day. I had already known Dr. Walter before: for my semester abroad that I spent in Cuba, I had purchased international health insurance through Dr. Walter and I was very satisfied with their services", said Tobias Stoppok when asked about his scholarship.
Training of early stage researchers
With the Germany Scholarship, companies such as Dr. Walter support the training of outstanding specialists and early stage researchers. "We are happy to help young people with their training, no matter if it’s about supporting them with a scholarship or providing them with insurance for their stay abroad", explained Reinhard Bellinghausen, Managing Director of Dr. Walter.
The Germany Scholarship is an important contribution to supporting education and business in Germany. Private sponsors already support committed students who deliver outstanding performances with Euro 1,800 per year. The German government then also provides the same amount on top of it. The Germany Scholarship stands for broad based promotion of excellence. The main focus is on excellent performance, civic commitment and personal circumstances. With almost 14,000 awarded scholarships, the program introduced during the first term in 2011 has meanwhile become a well-established part of the academic landscape.
