The German government's changing visa policy makes it difficult for au pairs to come to Germany. In 2023, fewer au pairs received a visa than in the previous year. There were also more changes of host family. Many families want and need the support of an au pair and are disappointed.

The annual general meeting of the Aupair Society e.V. took place at DR-WALTER in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid. The au pair insurer is a founding member of the association, which has been in existence for 24 years and is committed to improving the au pair system in Germany.

New DR-WALTER Academy guarantees qualification and further training for employees

The new DR-WALTER Academy ensures the continuous training of our own employees. We have recruited Verena Breuning-Wendlandt, an experienced trainer from the insurance industry, to manage the academy, which will also offer external training courses in the long term.

Since 07 October 23 Israel has been facing military conflicts in the area around the Gaza Strip. In such uncertain times, many insurers do not provide cover when travellers are in war zones or in countries for which the German Foreign Office has stated a travel warning.
