More projects and initiatives

We are developing more and more ideas on how we can protect the environment and the climate and minimise our ecological footprint.

The swap and gift exchange takes place regularly and is very popular.
Here we can swap or give away things such as clothes, books, decorative items and household goods. This helps us to avoid waste, find a new home for things we no longer need and promote a more environmentally conscious lifestyle.

As part of the global Cleanup Day, we organize a waste collection campaign around our site every September to set an example against environmental pollution. Littering has become a real problem. Who hasn't seen it yet? Carelessly discarded garbage on the roadside or in the forest. But it's not just about the unsightly appearance. Plastics in particular release toxins when they decompose, which are harmful to animals, plants and even us humans.
If you would like to join the cleanup team, you will be given the afternoon off to clean up our environment and send a strong signal against environmental pollution

We use green electricity for computers, printers, lighting and the coffee machine. Moreover, we utilise recycled paper with labels such as "Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)," "The Green Range," and "EU Ecolabel." Our long-term goal is to adopt the low-paper office concept.  We print our product brochures and insurance documents in a manner that is climate-neutral.

In cooperation with ReviewForest, we plant a tree in Central America for every review on Google to restore the semi-evergreen tropical forest. Plant-for-the-Planet will look after the young trees for up to three years post-plantation. By planting more and more trees, we are creating fair-paying, long-term job opportunities in the vicinity. ReviewForest is supporting and investing in a range of projects that adhere to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These projects are making a positive impact on the environment and on the lives of the local people.

We also planted trees ourselves together with Aktion Baum in Langerwehe near Düren. In icy temperatures of 0-4 degrees and driving snow, ten DR-WALTER employees planted 1,000 trees in the cold earth under the guidance of professional foresters, forest farmers and forest managers.
Trees are true marvels of nature: they bind CO₂, increase the oxygen content of the air and provide a valuable habitat for many animals and plants. Our little trees will probably only grow into large, strong specimens in 50 years' time, which hopefully future generations will be able to enjoy.

DR-WALTER understands that this is only a beginning. We strive to maintain a sustainable approach to our solutions by balancing economic, environmental, and social concerns daily. To ensure the longevity of our solutions, we strive daily to maintain equilibrium between the economy, ecology, and social concerns.
